Covid 19 regulation update at Luna Ink Tattoo studio in Newport South Wales

Luna Ink tattoo studio in Newport will be reopening for appointments only. We have new rules to keep everyone safe and avoid the spread of Covid-19, if you’re planning a tattoo with us then please take the time to check out our new measures which will be in place for the foreseeable future.

We will be open for bookings from the 28th July and we’re so excited to welcome our clients back. Of course, due to Covid-19, there has been some changes to ensure the safety of everyone. Cleanliness has always been our priority but extra measures have been put in place to protect everyone!

When we reopen, it will be by appointment only and we will only be allowing one client per tattoo artist in the shop at a time, do not bring anyone else to your appointment with you. If someone is waiting for you then we please ask that they wait outside, by limiting the amount of people in the studio we are minimising the risk of exposure.

If you are attending the studio then you must use hand sanitizer and wear a mask which should be put on before entering. We are only allowing one person at the reception desk at a time so if someone is already there then please wait your turn. You will be required to put your phone in our new UV sterilisation box to be sterilised. Before your appointment can begin we will check your temperature, this is to ensure that you are not running a fever, if you are however, we can deny tattooing you so do not attend your appointment if you are displaying any signs of illness, including a fever, sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath or symptoms of a cold. We don’t want to have to turn anyone away so please do not risk coming to the studio if you are experiencing any of these signs.

We ask that you take off your coat or jacket and put it on the stand provided and either remove your shoes or wear shoe coverings. Please do not bring any big bags, shopping bags, etc. with you, only bring what is absolutely necessary. The drawing tables and office chairs are for Luna Ink staff only and there will be no exceptions to this. We are doing everything we can to avoid contamination of any kind and so these rules must be followed.

Remember that getting a tattoo can lower your immune system response so please take extra care of your tattoos and piercings! Because of the lowered immune response and the risk of infection we advise the following for anyone looking to get some new ink.

Consider waiting for your next tattoo if:

  • You have any respiratory illnesses
  • You have an autoimmune disease
  • Your medication means you are immune suppressed or immune compromised
  • You have a condition that puts you at high risk of infection

You should not be getting a tattoo if:

  • You have a heart infection or disease
  • You have lung problems

During lockdown, our tattoo artists took specialist WHO courses pertaining to Covid-19. They are of course both trained in hygiene and health and safety but took the time to make sure that they understand the added risk of the coronavirus. Jonki and Paul both attained certificates in these courses and will be using that knowledge to keep themselves and their clients safe!

All we want is to able to provide a safe environment so that our artists can do their jobs and our clients can finally get the new ink they’ve been waiting for! In order to achieve this, we need your full cooperation and we hope that you will be respectful of that, we don’t want to have to deny anyone a tattoo so follow the rules with us! These measures will be in place for the foreseeable future and we will keep you updated should anything change. We can’t wait to welcome clients back to the studio!
